Prof. Thommes zum Fellow der International Adsorption Society ernannt
Das Department Chemie-und Bioingenieurwesen (CBI) freut sich mitteilen zu dürfen, dass Prof. Matthias Thommes, Inhaber des Lehrstuhl für Thermische Verfahrenstechnik, im März 2021 von der International Adsorption Society (IAS) als neuer Fellow der Gesellschaft aufgenommen wurde. Die Auszeichnung gilt als eine der höchsten im Wissenschaftsfeld „Adsorption“.
In ihrer Ankündigung erklärte das IAS: „The appointment of these outstanding scientists as IAS Fellows acknowledges the tremendous and significant contributions they have made during their careers for the field of adsorption and for our international community”.
Des Weiteren wurden auch Prof. Andreas Seidel-Morgenstern (MPI, Magdeburg, DE) sowie Prof. Krista Walton (Georgia Tech, Atlanta, USA) ausgezeichnet.
The International Adsorption Society brings together researchers from throughout the world working in industry, academia and government to advance the field of adsorption in areas ranging from the fundamental molecular thermodynamics of adsorption phenomena to the design of industrial separations processes to the applications of adsorption in nanotechnology. Every three years IAS organizes the International Conference on the Fundamentals of Adsorption (FOA), the leading conference in the field.
